Kelly O’Horo, LPC, has been a therapist since 2010 and fell in love with EMDR therapy as a client first! She is passionate about being a trauma therapist as she has a lot of personal experience with trauma. She is a mother of 5 (four Veterans) and married to a wonderful survivor of C-PTSD, who is now also a counselor. They have 5 grandkids and, as the matriarch of the family, with an enneagram of 2, she is a natural helper and healer. Kelly believes the therapy office is the classroom for the “life stuff” our clients weren’t taught before, about emotions, coping skills, and developmentally appropriate responses for today. Formerly a public-school educator of 15 years, she enjoys helping clinicians to develop into becoming their best EMDR therapist through the consultation process. Kelly specializes in attachment and implicit trauma and dissociation throughout the lifespan. “The difference between an EMDR therapist that is a carpenter as opposed to a craftsman is rooted in exquisite attunement, excellent consultation, and trust in the process.”

Hello friends and happy December!

Hello and Happy Holidays all!

If you’re in the thick of the holiday season, I hope you’re finding those little moments of magic that make this time of year feel so special! I hope you have traditions that anchor you, connection that warms you, laughter that catches you off guard, and those cozy moments that make life feel simple for a minute (bonus points if there are fuzzy socks involved).

And I have to say… I’m feeling especially lucky this year. I’m blessed with good friends who will do fun festive things with me like touring Christmas lights by golf cart, laughing like kids, soaking in the sparkle, and letting ourselves enjoy the season in a way that feels light and sweet. And I have a husband whose “favorite sport” is decorating (I’m not exaggerating 😂). He makes all our spaces holiday extra, like, the kind of extra that makes you smile the second you walk in the door. He even dresses up like Santa and passes out candy canes from our golf cart to the neighborhood kids! Those are the kinds of memories that fill my cup.

This year, I’m also feeling a deep kind of gratitude, especially because my mom appears to be recovering nicely after what has been a very long, very taxing year post liver transplant with several complications. There’s something sacred about getting to exhale after holding your breath for so long. I’m noticing the small things more: the relief in my chest, the quiet steadiness of a calmer day, the way hope returns in tiny “nuggets” when you least expect it.

And I have so much gratitude for my team at Infinite Healing and Wellness, this year they recognized me as the “Heart of the Team,” which has not been done before. They awarded me with a special owl statue along with our Founders award winner and our up and comer! It reminded me of something I think we all forget people do see you, even when they don’t say it all the time. Sometimes the love is loud, and sometimes it’s quiet, but it’s there. And if you’ve been pouring into others this year, I hope you hear this: you matter more than you know.

And honestly? I feel more rejuvenated right now than I have in a while, not because life got easier (life is gonna life), but because I’m settling into a certain truth: “the obstacle is the way.” The hard things don’t just interrupt the journey… they are the journey. And in between the sets, between the waves that will absolutely kick our butts from time to time, there are these small moments worth dancing in. A warm drink. A soft blanket. A shared glance with someone who gets you. Kids laughing. Lights twinkling. A deep breath that finally reaches the bottom of your lungs.

That’s real life too. And I want more of us to celebrate those moments too!

Much Love and Happy Holidays,

Kelly
